Supermoons, total solar eclipses and equinoxes, Oh My!
When? NOW. This is it! A day I look forward to all year. Spring equinox is upon us, this beautiful time of beginning and renewal when the Earth’s axis becomes perpendicular to the sun’s rays — cresting with a perfect balance of day and night until it begins tipping over, making the days longer in the northern hemisphere.
Longer days.

To a woman with Seasonal Affective Disorder, this is exquisitely beautiful news. I can hardly wait to lie outside in the warmth with as few clothes as possible and worship the sun.
Since we have a few small details known as freezing weather with snow flurries in my neighborhood, I will be tapping into the alchemical energy of the supermoon (or perigee moon), occurring when the new moon passes as close as possible to the Earth. We may not be able to see it, but the lunar pull is strong.
In addition, we have the majesty of a total solar eclipse!

So there you have it – a perfect trifecta of vernal equinox, a supermoon and a total solar eclipse. A blissful time to rejoice in the abundant celestial and upcoming terrestrial beauty of spring.
Personally, I’m going to be with people I adore sharing a bottle of handcrafted mead I began last year during the supermoon in Aquarius. How ’bout you?
